Image analyses for video-based remote structure vibration monitoring system

摘要: Video-based vibration measurement is a cost-effective way for remote monitoring the health conditions of transportation and other civil structures, especially for situations where accessibility is restricted and does not allow installation of conventional monitoring devices. Besides, video-based system is global measurement. The technical basis of video-based remote vibration measurement system is digital image analysis. Comparison of the images allow the field of motion to be accurately delineated. Such information is important to understand the structure behaviors including the motion and strain distribution. This paper presents system and analyses to monitor the vibration velocity and displacement field. The performance is demonstrated on a testbed of model building. Three different methods (i.e., frame difference method, particle image velocimetry, and optical Flow Method) are utilized to analyze the image sequences to extract the feature of motion. The Performance is validated using accelerometer data. The results indicate that all three methods can estimate the velocity field of the model building, although the results can be affected by factors such as background noise and environmental interference. Optical flow method achieved the best performance among these three methods studied. With further refinement of system hardware and image processing software, it will be developed into a remote video based monitoring system for structural health monitoring of transportation infrastructure to assist the diagnoses of its health conditions.

提高光流估计性能的渐进性高斯多维预滤波方法的研究

摘要:

基于光流计算方法统一框架理论,研究了一种利用高斯多维滤波器的渐进性和时空性提高光流估计性能的有效方法。在保持现有光流计算方法的前提下,通过调节时间维和空间维的方差参数,改变时空预滤波和光滑效果,突出时间混叠和光流主信息,从而提高重构视频序列的信噪比。试验中以标准的Flower Garden和Football序列的前50帧作为参考图像序列,以LK算法为参考光流算法。结果显示,滤波窗口为5×5时的最佳时间方差参数为0.4,最佳空间方差参数为[1.6,2.0];加入高斯多维预滤波前后利用光流场重构图像的平均峰值信噪比PSNR提高2.572dB,提高幅度为13.6%。

New computational treatment of optical wave propagation in lossywaveguides

摘要: In this paper, the optical wave propagation in lossy waveguides is described by the Helmholtz equation with the complex refractive-index, and the Chebyshev pseudospectral method is used to discretize the transverse operator of the equation. Meanwhile, an operator marching method, a one-way re-formulation based on the Dirichletto-Neumann (DtN) map, is improved to solve the equation. Numerical examples show that our treatment is more efficient.

物质流分析的跟踪观察法

摘要:

流动,是物质(如铜、铝等)流动和流体流动二者所具有的基本特征,基于这个论点,简要地回顾了流体力学中研究流体流动的两种方法,即拉格朗日法和欧拉法;相应地提出了物质流分析的两种方法,即跟踪观察法和定点观察法。由于前者在文献中未见报道,因此对它进行了重点说明。强调了物质流的跟踪观察法既适用于稳态物质流(产品产量不变),也适用于非稳态物质流(产品产量增长或下降)。以钢铁产品生命周期的铁流图为例,说明了物质流的跟踪模型。在引入了物质流的非稳度后,提出了物质流各项指标的计算式,以及它们之间的相互关系。以瑞典铅酸电池系统为对象,计算了其中铅流的各项指标,并进行了必要的分析。

3D finite element method (FEM) simulation of groundwater flow during backward erosion piping

摘要: Backward erosion piping is an important failure mechanism for cohesive water retaining structures which are founded on a sandy aquifer. At present, the prediction models for safety assessment are often based on 2D assumptions. In this work, a 3D numerical approach of the groundwater flow leading to the erosion mechanism of backward erosion piping is presented and discussed. Comparison of the 2D and 3D numerical results explicitly demonstrates the inherent 3D nature of the piping phenomenon. In addition, the influence of the seepage length is investigated and discussed for both piping initiation and piping progression. The results clearly indicate the superiority of the presented 3D numerical model compared to the established 2D approach. Moreover, the 3D numerical results enable a better understanding of the complex physical mechanism involved in backward erosion piping and thus can lead to a significant improvement in the safety assessment of water retaining structures.

An analysis has been performed to study the problem of magneto-hydrodynamic (MHD) squeeze flow of an electrically conducting fluid between two infinite, parallel disks. The analytical methods called Homotopy Analysis Method (HAM) and Homotopy Perturbation Method (HPM) have been used to solve nonlinear differential equations. It has been attempted to show the capabilities and wide-range applications of the proposed methods in comparison with a type of numerical analysis as Boundary Value Problem (BVP) in solving this problem. Also, the velocity fields have been computed and shown graphically for various values of physical parameters. The objective of the present work is to investigate the effect of squeeze Reynolds number, Hartmann number and the suction/injection parameter on the velocity field. Furthermore, the results reveal that HAM and HPM are very effective and convenient.

Numerical study and control method of interaction of nucleation and boundary layer separation in condensingflow

摘要: The spontaneous nucleation flow in turbine cascade was numerically studied. The model was implemented within a full Navier–Stokes viscous flow solution procedure and the process of condensation was calculated by the quadrature method of moments that shows good accuracy with very broad size distributions. Results were presented for viscous and inviscous flow, showing the influence of boundary layer separation and wake vortices on spontaneous nucleation. The results show that the degree of flow separation in wet steam flow is greater than that in superheated steam flow due to condensation shock and that the loss cannot be neglected. Furthermore, the impact of boundary layer separation and wake vortices on velocity profiles and its implications for profile loss were considered. The calculations showed that layer separation and wake vortices influence nucleation rate, leading to different droplet distributions. A method for controlling homogeneous nucleation and for reducing degree of flow separation in high-speed transonic wet steam flow was presented. The liquid phase parameter distribution is sensitive to the suction side profile of turbine cascade, which impacts the nucleation rate distribution leading to different droplet distributions and affects the degree of flow separation. The numerical study provides a practical design method for turbine blade to reduce wetness losses.

Optical performance analysis of an innovative linear focus secondary trough solar concentrating system

摘要: The parabolic trough solar concentrating system has been well developed and widely used in commercial solar thermal power plants. However, the conventional system has its drawbacks when connecting receiver tube parts and enhancing the concentration ratio. To overcome those inherent disadvantages, in this paper, an innovative concept of linear focus secondary trough concentrating system was proposed, which consists of a fixed parabolic trough concentrator, one or more heliostats, and a fixed tube receiver. The proposed system not only avoids the end loss and connection problem on the receiver during the tracking process but also opens up the possibility to increase the concentration ratio by enlarging aperture. The design scheme of the proposed system was elaborated in detail in this paper. Besides, the optical performance of the semi and the whole secondary solar trough concentrator was evaluated by using the ray tracing method. This innovative solar concentrating system shows a high application value as a solar energy experimental device.

Discrete element method modeling of corn-shaped particle flow in rectangular hopper

摘要: Discrete element method (DEM) was developed to simulate the corn-shaped particles flow in the hopper. The corn-shaped particle was described by four overlapping spheres. Contact force and gravity force were considered when establishing the model. In addition, flowing characteristic of particles in the hopper was studied. The effect of friction coefficient on the wall pressure, voidage and velocity distribution was analyzed. The results show that the discharge rate decreases with the friction coefficient increasing; and the “over-pressure” phenomenon occurs in the discharging process for two different friction coefficients. The voidage also increases as the friction coefficient increasing. And the velocity distribution is more uniformity and is closer to the mass flow with the friction coefficient deceasing.

摘要:

基于变量变换级数展开法,获得了掩埋矩形光波导及脊形光波导的矢量本征模及其传播常数。变量 变换使无限平面映射成单位平两,从而使单位平面边界上的电磁场自然为零,消除了非物理反射,提高了计算 精度;另外,由于这种方法所导致的矩阵阶数小,因此计算效率较高。分析的结果与已发表的结果吻合较好, 可以为优化波导光电子器件的结构提供参考。

Flow behavior of non-spherical particle flowing in hopper

摘要: Ellipsoidal particles flowing in the hopper were simulated by using the discrete element method (DEM), and described by the multi-element method. The contact detection algorithm and equations for ellipsoidal particle motion in hopper were developed. And the simulation results were confirmed by experiment. Additionally, the mass flow rate, pressure distribution and velocity distribution of two kinds of particles were examined. The results show that the mass flow rate of ellipsoidal particles is smaller than that of spherical particles. There is a maximum value of pressure drop at the top of the junction. Besides, the pressure drop decreases with the discharging time increasing. The velocity of spherical particle is larger than that of ellipsoidal.

大孔径光纤过渡器中光波特性分析

提出了基于束传输法(BPM)的大孔径光纤锥形过渡器理论分析模型。讨论了过渡器在纵向边界线性和非线性情况下(包括类似正弦型和余弦型变化),分别以大小端作为输入端口,耦合角度以及耦合长度对过渡器的损耗和耦合效率的影响,得出了过渡器最佳纵向边界、耦合角度和耦合长度。

基于非关联流动法则的滑移线场及上限法研究

摘要:

当前岩土材料的滑移线场理论及上限法中都广泛采用经典塑性理论中的关联流动法则,由此得出应力特征线与速度滑移线一致的结论。而试验得知,岩土材料并不服从关联流动法则,因而应力特征线与速度滑移线不可能重合。文章分析了基于关联流动法则的滑移线场及上限法中存在的问题,根据广义塑性理论推导了基于非关联流动法则的滑移线场及上限法,消除了现行滑移线场理论及上限法理论中的种种矛盾。

用可压缩流涡方法模拟叶轮机动静叶的相互作用

摘要:

本课题组发展了一种扰动涡方法,用以研究叶轮机内动、静叶相互作用[1,2]。其优点是物理图画清楚,计算收敛快。它采用了一个重要假设:扰动胀量为零,从而大大简化 了计算过程。文章的目的是研究此假设的影响,并取消此假设,使扰动涡方法建立在完全严格的数学基础上。由于取消了“扰动胀量为零的假设,需要耦合求解扰动质量方程、扰动涡量输运方程和扰动能量输运方程。这是文章与文献[1,2]的主要区别。

文献[1,2]对NASA67压气机第一级内由于动、静叶间的相互作用引起的非定常流动过程作了数值模拟,并与试验结果作了对比。文章也作了同样的算例,以研究扰动胀量为零的影响。数值模拟结果表明,在引入了扰动胀量后,用扰动涡方法模拟动静干涉仍保持较好的收敛性和收敛速度,且与试验的符合程度更好。文章强调指出,即使对于非定常可压流,为满足无渗透边界条件所需的运动分量也是用椭圆类的拉普拉斯方程描述,而不是用双曲类的方程描述。“扰动胀童为零”不能等同于扰动运动为不可压。

广域电磁法和拟流场法精细探测技术——以井工一矿水害探测为例 Article

井工一矿存在严重的老空区和水害。以往的单一勘探方法,如地震法、直流电法、音频大地电磁法、可控源音频大地电磁法、瞬变电磁法等,均未能探明老采空区范围和水害赋存情况。为了解决这个难题,联合采用广域电磁法和井- 地拟流场法的三位一体立体式探测技术,并利用三维反演电阻率资料精准获取富水区域和采空区的位置,确定了不同层位水的连通性,为井工一矿的安全生产提供了可靠的技术保障。结果合理、成效显著,释放了近4 km2 的可采面积。
